WELL WE STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN JOBS. Actually, we have a good excuse... over here we need a BUTTLOAD of paperwork and forms and it's a bit hassle, but we've started the process. We applied for Personal Public Service numbers (PPSN's) and when we get them (7-10 days) we can then apply for the tax stuff, THEN we can look for work. I've already sort of started (written a few companies, but no work back as of yet...)

ANYWAY we're still having fun exploring the city and surrounding towns. There are ACTUAL towns! It's cool.

GAY PARIS

We're going to Paris for my birthday. It's stupidly cheap to get there. Either we can BOTH get return tickets to Paris, TWICE or one of us can get the bus down the road. It's gonna cost us a whopping €0.56 ... to get to the city (Dublin) costs €1.35...

ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT

FolioButtons

OK, SO YOU'RE PROBABLY WONDERING HOW I'M GOING WITH JOBS? Well not very good really. We need to fill out a buttload of forms and do a lot of work in order to even qualify to work, let alone get a job. And besides, theres too many pubs and too many types of beer distracting me. But this week we've got the interweb so things will be working nicely. Gonna check out the interweb and recruitment agencies and see whats what. Also my business cards will be ready soon, and my NEW site will hopefully be up soon too.

Mondayne-Travel

As a sidenote; the travel blog will be closed from now on. I don't like running two blogs and it seems pointless anyway. So keep ready THIS site and forget the other one ever existed.

WE'VE EXPLORED SOME COOL THINGS IN THE CITY. We went to the Guinness brewery and storehouse yesterday. But for €14 it was hardly worth it. Luckily we 'accidentally' bypassed the security system (one small boy) and snuck in. It was fun. More fun sneaking and stealing pens and tasting the Guinness samples than the actual museum. The place was cool though in general, but had a strange Duff Brewery theme to it; "Duff beer for me, duff beer for you, I'll have a Duff, you have one too..." They kept telling us how good Guinness is for you.
At the top of the museum was a bar (there were 3 in total, in a MUSEUM!) which overlooked the entire city. It was totally awesome! You could see everything. But in case you couldnt tell what was what there was type on the window describing what you're seeing.

We also walked by the Jameson distillery, but being a sophisticated adult drink, and us being idiots we didnt go in. There probably wasnt a tour anyway. But its was still cool.

We went to the Ireland Museum of Modern Art (IMMA or as I call it iMoMA) it was kind of boring. Modern-art, schmodern art. But the building was cool. It was an old hospital converted into a museum. The building was gorgeous! GORGEOUS. from the 1700's i think. And the formal gardens were cool. Everything is so cool over here! Olden-timey!! THE GREATEST OF ALL THE TIMEYS.

what else? Pubs are cool here. Not LAME irish-themed pubs, but actual pubs that have been there for centuries. We've gone to the tourist-infested Temple Bar but also to plenty of other quieter pubs. I got some business cards printed the other day, and when walking back we got hungry and cold so we walked into this old pub and had some Irish stew and bread and a pint. It was freaking great! hit the spot. And wasnt too expensive.

Theres also this chain of American diners called Eddie Rockets that have awesome chilli dogs and orange cheese and everything! Oh the irony. Travelling to dublin to eat american food. But theres food from every country. We went to this dive of an italian resturant but the food was sssoooooo good. And the service was great, except they didnt speak english. And there are heaps of eastern europeans and strangely carribean people everywhere. Its so different! and awesome.

The plan in the next few weeks is to look for work and go to Paris for my birthday. But we'll see. As I think I've said I'll have the interweb at my house next week so expect more frequent postings. Untill then;

THE GREEN GREEN HILLS (posted April 18th)

1-Flight-Skorea

HEY HEY HEY!!!

So we've arrived a few days ago! But it was easter holidays and irelands 90th anniversary since becoming a republic so no internetting was possible. Heres what went down since friday:

FRIDAY
The flight was freaking long and tiring, and because we'd been up all night beforehand we were exhausted. But it wasnt too bad. We arrived in Seoul in the late afternoon and the weather was nice. It was nice and cool. The plane was hot.
Flying over Asia was cool, we saw islands. And strangley there was loads of ice on the window (IMAGE1).

We couldnt really explore the city of Seoul very much because the buses stopped running at 8.00pm and taxi's were about $70-80 american dollars! So no cool presents guys! Sorry...

But we stayed in the hotel and wandered around the airport and that was cool. Everyone talked in Engrish. The traffic lights speak to you "Red Right, Prease Wait!" and when the green man comes up "Green Right. Prease Cross!" The sounds are really loud and blarring, and at the other end of the crossing loud music plays.

IMAGES:
2. They have playstations at the airport in case you get bored. But only one game to choose from. That EyeToy game...
3. Standing front of our hotel (The Hyatt btw)
4. Flying over Siberia!
5. The 'Great Hall' of Incheon Airport, really cool! The airport of the future! but the photo doesnt capture the scale.
6. Flying over Denmark.
7. Over germany
8. The first morning in Seoul. Nice lighting.
9. The Fancy fancy hyatt hotel. Too nice for the likes of us.
10. Sleeping on the plane from Heathrow to Dublin.
11. UNG is a popsicle.
12. A veiw from the cottage we're staying in.
13. The morning light. Nice and white and calm.

SATURDAY
Left for Heathrow. Even longer flight. Nothing too exicitng.

SATURDAY (still)
arrived in Heathrow. Had to cross the airport (which sounds easy but REALLY REALLY isnt.) The place is MASSIVE! and old. Strange contrast from Incheon where we just came from. And even Brisbane, which isnt that great.

Anyway we arrived safely. Met with Dermot and was very surreal. I hadnt seen him for a few years and i was a bit worried about it being weird. But it was great. Like we'd never been apart.

SUNDAY
There was a big parade in the city. 90 years ago some rebels fed up with the way ireland was loosing its culture to England marched to the post office and were massacred. But since then ireland has gained independance and all is good apparently.

We went out to a bar and had some pints (no guiness yet) And it totally knocked me out. 3 pints was plenty to get me nice and drunk. we were invited to dinner as well and two more glasses of wine and i was gone.

I went home early to meet UNG who had been asleep with the jetlags, and was SSSsoooo happpy to be home. BUT i didnt have a key and she couldnt unlock the door without it, so I was trapped outside, and her in. Tried climbing through a window but would probably have died. Back to the pub. Got the key. Got lost, lost my map. Caught a cab. got home. Slept.

MONDAY
Hungover. Jetlagged. but we wandered the city and just sort of relaxed. Designed my business cards: Finally got a phone number (0011 353 086 223 7992) and took care of some errands, like grocery shopping.

Nothing really too exciting yet. Not really anyway. And because it's been so long since i last posted I've sort of forgot a bunch of stuff. Its so much more conveiniant to have the interweb at home. Anyway I'll be going to iCafes more frequently, so you wont be getting many more boring summary posts in the near future.

untill we me again: enjoy these photos and remember

LONG TIME NO SEE

Hi! I'm here! In Ireland! It's great! The guiness is flowing! And so is my nose! (from the cold) It's wonderful. I can't talk long but I hear people are worried, so fear not, we're fine, it;s just been a holiday over here so nothing has been open.

Read the 'Travel Blog' for some more stuff.

Gonna try to get some work, which will hopefully have interweb access, but if not I'll be frequenting these interweb cafe's more often. Sorry to scare you all.

I'M OFF I GUESS

Travel

SO I'VE FINALLY PACKED. All 19.5kg's of stuff I'm taking (not including carry-on or laptop bags). It's gonna be fun. And exciting. And terrifying.

I just want to say goodbye to everyone! If I don't see you again I hope it doesn't mean we don't remain friends. My home, where ever it may be will always be your home too. Please feel free to come visit and crash announced or not, any time. And email me constantly. And check the blog too.

You guys mean the world to me, every last one of you.

I love you all!
IESSO

PS. Next time I post will be from Dublin probably. So don't freak out if you don't hear from me everyday. I don't think I'll have web access where I'm staying so internet cafe's will be my only option.
PPS. Best. Photoshopping. Ever. It's like I've already been there!

EEYORE-O-SAURUS

StegoSplat

DUNNO WHY, BUT THE POOR STEGOSAURUS ALWAYS LOOKED SO SAD. If stegosaurs could eat icecream they'd always have the scoop fall out of the cone. Poor guys.

Anyway I'm trying to get a business card. I think this'll be it. But in a polaroid frame. I've done it up, but didnt post it up cuz, well I can't be bothered really. BUT it should be good. Miniroids! YAY!

IESSO

PPS. Send me money yall! I want to get these printed! Actually, maybe I'll submit it to threadless, and WHEN (not if) it gets rejected you can send me money. Thanks@
PPS. Ok, so its now submitted. I EXPECT you all to vote an infinite number of times! INFINITE! Go to www.threadless.com/subs to vote. Don't vote for anyone else. No matter how much better theirs is. Which it will be.

Avatars

REMEMBER THE MAKE-YOUR-OWN-SOUTHPARK-CHARACTERS? Well UNG did one using the Yahoo Avatar make-your-own-um-thingey (LINK). So totally do that and then send it to me for posting onto the interweb! You might have to create an account [unless you already have a yahoo account] but it's easy.

IESSO

PS. No prizes for guessing who's who.
PPS. I totally cleaned up my room and threw away/donated to charity a buttload of stuff. Like, a buttload! A big butt too! So all I gots to do is pack I guess. Hoorah!

LAST MINUTE JITTERS

PortfolioScience
THERE SURE IS A LOT I HAVEN'T DONE YET; I haven't cleaned my room out, or packed, or gone into Liveworm to say goodbye. I haven't hung out enough with my friends. I haven't printed my portfolio (my printer needs ink). And I am running out of time.

What I have done though is redesign my portfolio website. Because the printed version is not done I'm going to rely solely on the web, so it has to be good. But it probably isn't. See for yourself by clicking the ol' link in the top left corner... I think it says 'Portfolio' or something like that... Uhh-Derrrrr!

Anyway, also (sort of) freaking me out is: Not knowing the emperical measurement system (feet, inches, miles, etc.) Not so much for Ireland but the USA. What the hell is 3/8's of an inch divided into equal columns of 9, with a 5/16ths gutter between? Stupid crazy nonconformists. I'm all for nonconformity, but when it comes to measuring spacing on paper for godsake people; follow the rest of the world. Shirely metric is better!

Anyway that's about all for now. I think ima gonna take a nap.

IESSO

PS. What do the signs for boys and girl toilets look like in Scotland?

TANNER'S IPOD BROKE the other day, so as a last result we tried to fix it. Apple said that it couldn't be done. But we proved them wrong! ALSO: If your iPod is past its warranty and you have the "folder with exclamation mark" icon do what we did; Open it up with a knife, unclip the harddrive and shake it a little bit, plug it back in, close the pod and it should work! You'll have to set it up with the iPod Updater software, but it'll work fine. Better than spending $400 for a new one!

IESSO

PS. Yes, the photos are bad, but you should get the idea. The last one has the iPod STILL OPEN but plugged into the computer! And it was working!

PPS. As per the post title, there were 2 loose screws floating around on the inside of the iPod, but I don't think that affected the performance. They were only screws to attach the dock connector port cover (just a peice of plastic, nothing vital), we removed them and it works fine.

Confusededed

WELL, WE GRADUATED from our uni course (Bachelor of Design majoring in Graphic Design). I for one am proud of everyone for all the hard work, blood, sweat and tears, arguing, complaining and whining we've done over the last 3 years. It was worth it. Right?

The ceremony was boring, and really gay, and a total anti-climax, as is everything, but I'm still glad I went.

And the going away party was fun too. But I've been too stressed recently to properly enjoy it. But I had fun. It was very bittersweet though. It was very sad to say good bye to everyone.

Keep in touch. At the very least leave some comments on the blog...

IESSO

Ps. The photos posted are only ones from my digital camera, send me some of your own photos. And I'll scan the polaroids I took soon too.

APOLOGISING (once again)

Smiley80s

OK, SO MY LITTLE THEORIES did not get the reactions I intended. So apparently people think I'm a gay pedophile. Which is just great. Me and my dumb theories. I just wanted to apologise for any confusion or offense I probably caused.

ANYWAY I bought a nice new camera, it's not totally crash hot, but it isn't bad either. It's PRETTY GOOD. And I haven't figured out exactly how to get it to work properly but the photos dont look too bad. This one does however (from a technical standpoint anyway) because it was one of the first I took. But I figured out how to use the manual settings with exposure, shutter speed, flash strength, etc etc and the more recent photos dont look so bad.

Why you would care I cant say. But at least things might get more interesting in a week! A WEEK!!!!

INSANE THEORUMS (updated)

I don't thin I spelt theorems right. Anyways sorry for not posting a whole lot recently, been busy. Anyway I have 2 crazy theories that I want your opinions on...

1. SEX-CRIMES
Why can a 20 year girl date a 60 year old man and no-one really objects too much, but a 20 year old man can't date a 6 year old girl? It's just not fair. Double standards! The age difference is way less and everything!

2. I'VE ALWAYS BEEN BAD AT MATH
Why do people in homosexual couples take on the characteristics of the opposite gender. For eg, a gay man is more feminine than a straight man (stereotypically). But wouldn't the characteristics of the people rub on each other, just as a man in a relationship in a woman becomes more feminine, wouldn't a gay man become more masculine?

That's all for now. Think about it.

DISCLAIMER: I THOUGHT PEOPLE WOULD PICK UP ON THE FACT THAT BECAUSE THESE THEORIES ARE SO RIDICULOUS YOU WOULDN'T THINK I WAS SERIOUS. BUT MAYBE YOU THINK I AM. OF COURSE I DON'T ENDORSE PEDOPHILIA. AND THE RUBBING OFF ON PEOPLE IS UTTER LUDACRIS AS WELL

IESSO

PS. Im still waiting on those invites! Theres only a few days left!!!

TOUCH-UP

UNG-mondayne-SML
T-Shirt-Spread

I'M NEARLY DONE WITH MY PORTFOLIO so hopefully I'll be able to print it soon! I can't wait to get it over and done with. As per the image above, I redid the images of the UNG modelling my shirts from the last folio to make it match these illustrations more. But I didnt want it to match too much, so thats why its a bit more cartooney. Anyway I reckon it looks good. And of course that she looks good. Although it was hard to capture her smirking smile and sarcastic gaze but oh well, it's still good...
